Eligibility Requirements
Not everyone gets a bonus. You must qualify for and be offered a specific bonus-eligible MOS/rating, meet all ASVAB line score requirements for that job, pass medical and background requirements, and sign a contract for the minimum required service length (often 4–6 years). Bonuses are branch-controlled and can change without notice.
How Bonuses Are Paid
Smaller bonuses (under ~$10,000) are often paid as a lump sum after completing training. Larger bonuses are typically paid in installments — commonly 50% at the completion of initial training, 25% at the 2-year mark, and 25% at the 4-year mark.
