Privacy Policy

Overview

Military Prep Hub is an independent educational resource designed to help military recruits and their families make informed decisions. We are committed to respecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a visitor.

Information We Collect

We do not ask you for personal information, and we have no way to identify you. Specifically:

• There are no user accounts, logins, or registration forms on this site.
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information.
• We do not use contact forms that store data.
• Interactive tools on this site (quizzes, calculators, estimators) run entirely in your browser. No inputs or results are sent to any server.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics to understand which pages people actually find useful. That is how we decide what to write next, and it is part of what allows the site to stay free.

• Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (typically named _ga) so it can tell repeat visits apart from new ones. It records things like which pages you viewed, roughly how long you stayed, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and what device and browser you used.
• We only ever see this as aggregate numbers. We cannot tell who you are, and we do not try to.
• Vercel Analytics counts page views without cookies and without following you across other sites.
• If you would rather not be counted: browser privacy settings, most ad blockers, and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on all block it. The site works exactly the same either way.

Advertising

Articles and guides show display advertising served by Mediavine, through its Journey program. Some articles also end with an Amazon offer, such as an Audible free trial. That is an affiliate link: if you sign up through it, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

• Ads appear on articles and guides only. The calculators and tools stay ad-free.
• Mediavine and the advertisers it works with set their own cookies and use similar technologies to decide which ads to show, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure whether ads were seen. They may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. Those cookies are theirs, not ours, and are governed by Mediavine's policies in its Legal and Privacy Center.
• Following an Amazon link takes you to Amazon, which sets its own cookies to credit us for the referral and is governed by Amazon's privacy notice. We are told only that a referral happened, never who you are or what you bought.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising across most networks at optout.aboutads.info or via Google Ad Settings.
• We block the ad categories that prey on this audience: payday and title lending, high-interest auto loans marketed to junior enlisted, and for-profit schools chasing GI Bill money.

What Stays Private Regardless

• There is nothing to log into, so there is no account, password, or profile that could leak.
• Everything you type into a quiz, calculator, or estimator runs in your browser and never leaves your device. Your practice ASVAB scores, bonus figures, and quiz answers are not sent anywhere, not to us and not to anyone else.
• Some of those answers are saved in your own browser, so you do not have to retype your branch or your ASVAB estimate in every tool. That storage lives on your device and is readable only by this site. We never receive it, it is not tied to any account, and you can wipe it any time with the "Forget all of it" button on the tools page, or by clearing site data in your browser.

External Links

This site contains links to external websites, including:

• Amazon: We participate in the Amazon Associates affiliate program. Links to Amazon products may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. These links are clearly associated with product recommendations.
• Other external sites: We link to official military websites, educational resources, and other third-party sites for informational purposes.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any site you visit through our links.

Hosting

This site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server logs (such as IP addresses and request timestamps) as part of normal web hosting operations. These logs are managed by Vercel and are subject to Vercel's privacy policy. We do not access or process these logs.

Children's Privacy

Our content is written for prospective military recruits and their families, which means some of our readers are under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and nothing on this site asks any visitor for it. Because part of our audience is minors, we instruct our advertising partners not to serve personalized advertising to visitors identified as children, and we block the ad categories most likely to target young enlistees.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date below. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Contact

If you have questions or concerns about this privacy policy, or you want to know what data we hold about you (the short answer is none that identifies you), email us at militaryprephub@proton.me. A real person reads it.
