Good to know
- Weeks here count from the ship date. Most branches add a reception period of several days to about a week that is not counted as training, so the graduation date is a window, not a promise.
- Recruits can be held back, moved to another unit or put on medical hold, which shifts everything. In every branch, recruits are allowed to tell family when that happens.
- Training staff cannot tell you how your recruit is doing. For a real family emergency, contact the American Red Cross, which relays messages to the recruit's command.
